A hand-knotted Persian Lamberan wool runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of red, gray, blue, orange, ivory, pink, and burgundy. The red hued field features seven alternating square and hooked hexagonal medallions, along with an array of rectilinear designed floral, and other symbolic motifs. Framing the field is a pair of two-petal calyx borders, along with a meandering guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
