Item Details
A hand-knotted inscribed Persian Nahavand wool long rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of deep indigo-black, red, blue, peach, pink, cream, and brown. The deep indigo to black hued field begins with a central pendant medallion enclosed by cream to peach grounded notches along the edges and ends. It also features flower filled vases, and an array of floral motifs throughout, along with animal motifs, and an inscription to each end. Framing the field is a main red grounded stylized floral meander border, as well as a pair of chained carnation guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
