A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of deep red to magenta, indigo, cream, burnt orange, brown, pink, and gray. The lozenge shaped deep red to magenta hued field begins with a stepped medallion set on a pole of branched forms, and enclosed by horse-head capped columns at the edges. It also features an abundance of tree of life, and plant motifs. The lozenge is over a blue ground featuring coordinating designs and a hexagonal medallions at the ends. Framing the field is a main stylized shishboluki border with birds replacing rosettes, as well as geometric designed guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
