Hand-Knotted Pakistani Baluch Wool Long Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Pakistani Baluch long rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of deep red, midnight blue, khaki-gold, and ivory. It commences with parallel bands of arrowed motifs and medallions, with diamond accents following a central line. The elongated field is delineated with serrated edges at each short end and is capped with chains of flowering plants. Framing the field are geometric guard borders and a stylized running water secondary border. The rug is finished with double overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It bears an import label to the reverse.
