Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Rug

Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in tones of maroon, burnt orange, green, khaki-gold, pink, deep blue, and ivory. The field features a garden panel design, comprised of an allover lattice of hexagonal panels infilled with alternating floral and foliate motifs. Framing the field are floral meander and palmette grounded motifs over deep blue and ivory. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.

Condition

- light discoloration and wear to fringe; areas of pile wear and abrash; minor fray and snagging to selvedges.
