Hand-Knotted Persian Lamberan Heriz Wool Carpet Runner

Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Persian Lamberan Heriz carpet runner. This wool pile rug is woven in hues of red, medium blue, orange, pink, grey, and ivory. It is centered with seven geometric medallions, each comprised of rectilinear elements and alternating in color and form. The elongated field is infilled with floral and foliate motifs and flanked by floral meander guard and primary borders. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges, a brief kilim skirt, and short wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.

Condition

- damage to corners with some unraveling; minor fray and snagging to selvedges; fringe shows light wear and discoloration.
