A George Du Maurier (French, 1831-96) original ink drawing for the November 1889 issue of London’s Punch magazine. The charming illustration titled ‘Theories of the Training Stable’ illustrates two dapper gentleman in deep discussion with the faint image of a horse and jockey in the distance. There is hand written verse beneath the figures and the illustration is both signed and dated September 1889 on the image. The illustration is handsomely presented under glass in a vintage gray mat with hand drawn borders and a thin carved frame.
