A vintage hand-knotted Persian Malayer Sarouk rug. This rug features a densely ornamented black field showing stylized organic motifs in earthy reds and tans. The central medallion contains a radiating floral pattern on a cream ground which coordinates with the four corner spandrels. The center field is bound by an unresolved floral patterned principal border which is flanked by identical minor borders. The rug is finished with a natural warp fringe along the ends and single-wrapped selvedges along the sides.
