A vintage hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar accent rug. This wool pile rug is woven in abrashed tones of red, orange, deep blue, brown, green, and ivory. It commences with a hooked hexagonal medallion comprised of geometric florals, delineated with stepped edges, and flanked by palmette pendants. The lozenge field is populated with rectilinear fillers and grounded by corner spandrels infilled with complementary motifs. Framing the field are reciprocal guard borders, while the primary border displays a stylized samovar pattern over orange. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
