A Civil War era carte de visite portrait photograph of Union officer John T. Boyd by well-known photographer Samuel Masury of Boston, Massachusetts. John T. Boyd served as an officer in the 5th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. The image depicts the officer in regulation dress with suspended saber. The photograph verso bears an inscribed military history of John T. Boyd and printed photographer’s backmark, ‘S. Masury / Photography / 289 Washington St / Boston’.
