A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Heriz Serapi carpet runner. This rug features a cream-colored field ornamented densely with stylized botanical motifs in cerulean, butter yellow, emerald, sienna, chocolate, and mint green, which surround a row of medallions. The rug has four corner spandrels containing abstract motifs in coordinating colors, beyond which is a principal border containing a resolved abstract pattern, followed by a simple minor border. The rug is finished with a natural warp fringe to the two ends and has a single-wrapped selvedge along the two sides.
