Circa 1890 Hand-Knotted Persian Karaja Rug
Item Details
A circa 1890 hand-knotted Persian Karaja rug. The rug features a diamond medallion with hooked crenelations and stepped lozenge medallions set over a deep blue blue field. The field is populated with lobed flower motifs throughout. The field is surrounded by leaf-and-calyx minor borders and a lobed flower principal border. The rug is finished with hand-cast selvedges and cotton warp fringe.
