A late 19th century Latona shelf clock by the William L. Gilbert Clock Company. This Cathedral style time piece is comprised of a wooden case with crenellated fretwork, carved columns, and a glass and wood dial door. It offers a white paper dial with a brass bevel, black Arabic numberal hour markers and hands, and an inset seconds hand dial. The weight driven clock displays two key arbors, a wood and brass pendulum, and an 8-day operation. It is supported by plinth style feet, marked with ‘Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted, Conn.’ to the face, and labeled ‘Latona’ to the reverse.
