A hand-knotted Persian Kashan room size rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of bright blue, cranberry, olive, rose, navy, goldenrod, and ivory. It features a diamond-shaped scalloped medallion on a red field patterned with curvilinear vines, lancet leaves, and Shah Abbasi palmettes. The main border features a meander palmette motif with carnation minor borders. It has fringe to either end and overcast selvedges.
