Bin Yu Zhao Chinese Famille Verte Porcelain Temple Urns

Item Details

A pair hand painted Chinese famille verte porcelain urns, likely from the early Republic period (1912-1949), possibly from the Guangxu reign (1871-1908). The first vase is decorated with Daoist immortals at a river crossing and the second with figures outside the window of a scholar’s home and the Daoist immortal Liu Haichan on the verso. Both feature extensive poetic inscriptions and are signed by the artist Bin Yu Zhao (彬余釗). Gilt handles adorn both urns, which is in keeping with the dating of them. The undersides of the urns are enameled but otherwise unmarked.
