Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Kashan room sized rug. This wool pile carpet is woven in hues of medium blue, deep red, khaki-gold, orange, and ivory. The curvilinear field begins with a diamond pendant medallion enclosed by layered spandrels with navy, ivory, and light blue ground colors. It also features an allover field pattern including floral sprays, foliage, palmettes, and vine-work. Framing the field is a primary border comprised of a stylized herati motif over navy, along with a series of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe to the ends. It bears an import label to the reverse.
