Handwoven Indian Wool Soumak Rug

Item Details

A handwoven Indian wool soumak area rug. This chain-stitched rug is rendered in a variegated palette of ivory, golden yellow, sage, rust, apricot, slate, and sepia. The ivory colored field features large-scale palmettes and medallions accompanied with rectilinear designed flowering and leafy vine-work throughout. Framing the field is a main golden yellow grounded stylized herati border, along with a floral meander guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
