1886 Joliet VIII Railway Rail Converted as Anvil

Item Details

An 1886 Joliet VIII railway rail that has been converted into an anvil. This section of railroad track was produced in 1886 by the Joliet Iron And Steel Company at their rolling mill in Joliet, Illinois. It has since been cut and reworked into a blacksmiths anvil. The original marks ‘1886 Joliet VIII’ remain intact, impressed on the side of the rail.
