Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Heriz Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A vintage Indo-Persian Heriz carpet runner. This wool pile runner is woven in tones of red, blue, green, brown, pink and ivory. The elongated field is centered with a vertical chain of box medallions, each infilled with geometric florals and flanked by diminutive palmette pendants. Framing the field are solid guard borders, while the primary border displays a stylized samovar motif over red. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
