A pair of Mattel Christie and Julia Barbie dolls. This group contains an early 1970s Twist-n-Turn Christie doll with rooted eyelashes, side part, and bendable knees with a marking that reads ‘© 1966 Mattel, Inc. U.S. Patented U.S. Pat. Pend. Made in Japan’. Also included is a Julia doll, based on the groundbreaking television show Julia,
starring Diahann Carroll as an African-American widowed single mother who was a nurse in a doctor’s office at an aerospace company. The series ran from 1968 to 1971, and the dolls were produced from 1969 to 1972. This Twist-n-Turn doll has its original one piece outfit and nurses cap.
