Victorian Era Human Hair Family Tree Sculpture
Item Details
An antique family tree sculpture made from human hair. Featured is a nineteenth century shadowbox containing a family tree sculpture made from locks of hair of the family members represented, intricately wrapped and woven with wire. The box has a glass front, satin lining to the sides, and paper backing to the interior handwritten in ink with the names of the maker’s family members. The box has a locking hinged panel and hanging hardware on verso.
