Hand-Knotted Pakistani Wool Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Pakistani area rug. This wool pile rug is woven in hues of pink, blue, green, yellow, tan, and ivory. The hooked hexagonal field commences with four floral medallions with vertical stalks and is populated with diminutive diamonds edged with branch-like protrusions. It extends to large scale corner selvedges infilled with an ogee lattice pattern. Framing the field are compound guard and secondary borders comprised of dart, vining foliage, floral, boteh, and eight-pointed star motifs, while the primary border features a resolved foliate design over light blue. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges, a kilim skirt, and long wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
