Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz Wool Rug

Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool pile rug is worked in hues of red, yellow, blue, green, pink, and brown with ivory accents throughout. It commences with a large scale polyagonal pendant medallion amid an irregular field populated with floral and foliate designs and grounded by ivory spandrels. Framing the field are reciprocal guard borders and a primary border comprised of a geometric palmette motif. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. A label to the reverse reads ‘Made in Iran’.
