A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Heriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of red, indigo, cream, sky blue, rose, teal, peach, and yellow ocher. The indigo colored field features an ornately designed floral pattern with a central medallion. The field is framed by a red grounded main border with stylized palmettes and added blooms. A pair of floral guard borders frame the field as well. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine cotton warp fringe to the ends.
