Hand-Knotted Persian Karaja Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Karaja carpet runner. This wool pile rug is rendered in hues of soft red, blue, pink, grey, green, tan, and ivory. It is centered with a vertical chain of polyagonal medallions comprised of rectilinear elements and flanked by diminutive pendants. The elongated field is populated by florals, foliage, and geometric fillers, and grounded by ivory spandrels infilled with complementary motifs. Framing the field are floral meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a rosette pattern over blue. The rug is finished with multiple overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
