An antique Renaissance Revival chair by Savonarola. This armchair features solid walnut construction and has an ornate backrest showing figural motifs as well as grape bunches and scroll work. The backrest is flanked by female nude figures which form the ornately carved scrolling armrests. The chair has a curved seat constructed of intricately incised slats, which are supported by a curved X-shaped base accented with a dimensional face at the center. The chair is finished with claw feet reinforced with incised stretchers.
