Replogle 10" Reference Globe and Framed Foil Globe Art

A Replogle 10’ reference globe and framed foil globe art, designed and edited by Gutav Brueckmann. It has a metal time dial and the globe both tilts and rotates. Dated by locations on Replogle website as 1949; see additional information. Also included is a framed colorful Blaeu wall map depicting Europe’s knowledge of the world circa 1665. The coastlines of the continents are recognizably close to the real world as we know it now, with the west coast of North America perhaps the least well-known at the time; California, for example, is shown as an island, and the Alaskan-Canadian coastline shows no detail. The margins are decorated with illustrations of historical and mythological figures, with captions in Latin. The map is also decorated with the sailing ships and sea creatures common to maps of this era.
Condition
, The Blaeu Wall Map is in very good condition. The Replogle globe has some wear spots from different parts of the globe.
