A vintage hand-knotted Caucasian Daghestan carpet runner. This wool pile rug is worked in tones of blue, red, pink, brown, and ivory. It commences with a vertical chain of stepped diamond medallions comprised of geometric florals and flanked by palmette pendants. The elongated field is populated by pairs of hooked diamond medallions. Framing the field are carnation meander guard borders, while the primary border displays an almond blossom motif over deep blue. The rug is finished with double overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
