An original pastel drawing on toned fibrous paper by well-listed American artist Charles Edwin Hopkins (Cincinnati, Ohio, born 1886), titled Cumberland Falls. The drawing depicts the falls drawn in sketchy strokes of pastels in shades of white, brown, blue, and green. It is signed to the lower left and an antique tag to the verso reads: ‘Cumberland Falls by Hopkins, a local artist’. The painting is matted in blue and presented behind glass in a gold tone wooden frame with a hanging wire. Hopkins studied under famed Cincinnati artist Frank Duveneck and Lewis Henry Meakin.
