A vintage hand-knotted Persian Meshed room sized rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in crimson, medium blue, navy, orange, and green, with ivory accents throughout. It commences with a diamond medallion comprised of floral motifs and flanked by palmette pendants. The lozenge field is densely populated with clusters of oak leaves, flowering vines, palmettes, and rosettes, and grounded by layered spandrels. Framing the field are compound floral meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a stylized herati pattern over navy. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges that have been reinforced and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
