Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Hamdan accent rug. This wool pile rug is worked in a palette of navy, persimmon, golden yellow, and ivory, with hues of green, blue, and pink throughout. It commences with a combed hexagonal medallion comprised of geometric elements and flanked by palmette pendants. The lozenge field is delineated with stepped edges, populated with a rectilinear herati motif, and grounded by layered corner spandrels. Framing the field are carnation meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a stylized samovar pattern over navy. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges, kilim skirt, and long wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
