Antique Renaissance Revival Sgabello Chair in Walnut

An antique Renaissance Revival sgabello chair. This chair features solid walnut construction, carved in the Italian Renaissance era ‘sgabello’ style. The chair has a reticulated back showing a mirrored vignette of winged figural motifs, heraldry, and scroll motifs, which is affixed to a square seat with clipped corners which extends beyond the backrest. The seat rests on a reticulated panel in front with acanthus leaf motifs as well as figural motifs and claw feet. The support in back follows the silhouette of the front panel. No hallmarks present.
