A first edition, first impression hardcover edition of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poetry collection Tales of a Wayside Inn. It features the following first impression points: p. 125 ‘Whistled, Saying…’, p. 174 ‘His only pastime…’, and catalog p. 11 ‘Nearly ready’ under ‘Tales of a Wayside Inn’. It is bound in a three quarters green Morocco leather veneered marbled hardcover, with raised bands to the spine. Laid in is a hand-written letter signed by Longfellow, dated November 28, 1848, at Cambridge.
