A Conté crayon and charcoal drawing on paper by Joshua Mitchel (20th century). A study for a chalk mural, this work depicts various overlapping and entwined portraits comprised of loose delineations and gestural features. This composition was created as a sketch to be ultimately portrayed and displayed as a large chalk mural. The piece is signed ‘J. Mitchel’ to the lower left. To the upper margin, the study is inscribed ‘Study for Chalk Mural For Local 10 × 10’’. It is presented unframed and unmounted.

Condition

- irregular edges, minor wear and negligible warping throughout the edges of paper; even toning, negligible stains and minor rubbing throughout the composition.
