A limited edition untitled serigraph by Italian artist Angelo Savelli (1911-1995). This abstract piece depicts images of rich black hues, accented with shallow hues of magenta, deep reds, and vibrant blues. It is signed “Savelli” by hand to the lower right corner, with the limited edition number of 44/50 to the lower left. The piece is presented without mat, glass or frame
Angelo Savelli was born in Italy in 1911 and was heavily influenced to pursue art by his uncle Alfonso Barone (1878 – 1951) who was a self-taught artist. With the help of family and friends the young artist moved to Rome to attend the Academy of Fine Arts. Throughout his early years Savelli won awards for his very traditional artwork but would later explore modern art and it’s construction. Savelli is know for his experimental modern work including serigraphs and his work in education. His work was exhibited globally during his life and pieces are still housed in private and public collections.
