An etching with mezzotint on heavyweight rag paper by Japanese artist Kazuhisa Honda (b. 1948), titled Leaves, dated 1980. This work depicts light green, brown, and orange leaves folded over one another, rendered in a soft gradient against a dark background. The print is signed and dated to the lower right and is number 25 in an edition of 50, marked to the lower left. It is presented in a wooden frame behind glass with labels from the Summa Gallery to the verso.
From the late 20th century onward, Kazuhisa Honda has studied and created art in Osaka, Paris and New York. He developed his mezzotint technique under the tutelage of master printmaker Yozo Hamaguchi (Japanese, 1909 – 2000).
