A vintage hand-knotted Persian room sized rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in hues of deep red, navy, medium blue, pink, khaki-gold, and tan, with ivory accents throughout. It commences with an ogee medallion comprised of floral motifs and delineated with serrated edges. The lozenge field is densely populated with geometric floral bouquets and foliate designs. Framing the field are reciprocal and carnation meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a palmette grounded pattern over navy. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges, kilim skirt, and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
