A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of black, red, gray, cream, brown, and pink. The black hued field begins with a central pendant medallion accompanied by branched forms and rectilinear floral motifs, and enclosed by layered spandrels with coordinating designs. Framing the field is a stylized cream grounded pelt border, as well as a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
