A hand-knotted Persian Zanjan wool rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of red, black, gray, ivory, brown, and golden tan. The soft red hued field features a serrated medallion infilled with rectilinear designed floral motifs, as well as a central branched leaf form. Enclosing the field are large black grounded spandrels each infilled with hooked square medallions, rosettes, and tree forms. Framing the field is a main gray grounded meander border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
