Item Details

A grouping of three Karnig Dabanian art glass vessels. This group includes three signed Karnig Dabanian art glass vases, each one exhibits blue, green and purple hues subdued by smokey overtones. To the versos reads ‘Karnig’ with the years of 1981, 1986 and 1988.

Karnig Dabanian (American, 1922-2006) was a North American glass artist, and was a pioneer in the studio art glass movement. While attending the University of Michigan, he became fascinated with the science of glassmaking and studied under Dominick Labino at the Toledo Museum of Art in the early 1960s. He devised a method of making glass that looked like suspended smoke inside the glass.
