Karnig Dabanian (American, 1922-2006) was a North American glass artist, and was a pioneer in the studio art glass movement. While attending the University of Michigan, he became fascinated with the science of glassmaking and studied under Dominick Labino at the Toledo Museum of Art in the early 1960s. He devised a method of making glass that looked like suspended smoke inside the glass.
