A vintage mahjong set with bone-and-bamboo tiles. This set comes in a mahogany box with brass mounts, which features mother-of-pearl inlays of Chinese characters. The case has a removable upward sliding door that reveals a set of bone-handled drawers. The top four rows of drawers hold a set of hand-painted mahjong tiles made from bone and bamboo, while the bottom row has four smaller drawers holding hand-painted scoring sticks and dice made from bone. The box has no discernible maker’s mark.
