Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Runner

A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian wool runner. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of red to pink, blue, brown, wine, and cream. The red to pink hued field features a design comprised of floral motifs, palmettes, peacocks, cloud band elements, boteh, and leaves, including branched devices as well. Framing the field is a floral meander with boteh, along with meandering guard borders, and sawtooth minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
