Porcelain Oyster Plates including Antique Haviland Limoges
Item Details
A pairing of porcelain oyster plates depicting underwater scenes. Featured is a hand-painted plate with a red and green fish swimming towards seaweed above a brown shell and an antique Haviland Limoges plate with red seaweed, shells, a fish, and a crab. The latter bears maker and decorator marks to the underside placing production circa 1879-89. The plates offer indentations in the shapes of oysters with gilding to the scalloped rims.
