An antique silver plate bride’s or cake basket by the Middletown Plate Company, active from 1864 until 1921 in Middletown, Connecticut. This Aesthetic Movement style basket features pierced floral and foliate motif with a Japanese beetle on a twig framing, a rectangular well engraved ‘Roxx’ to its center, a squared swing handle, and a four-footed base. It is marked to its underside, ‘Middletown Plate Co. Quadruple Plate 1803 Hard White Metal’.
