A hand-knotted Turkish Taspinar wool rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of olive, deep red, navy, ivory, beige, brown, and pink. The navy blue hued field begins with a deep red grounded lozenge, while featuring a stepped and hooked medallion with a floral theme. The field also features red grounded spandrels, and a scatter of rectilinear flower forms. Framing the field are immediate bands to the ends with a niche style design, as well as an olive grounded main stylized floral meander border. Also helping frame the field are carnation meander guard borders, and meandering strips. Finishing this rug are quadruple overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
