Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Abadeh Wool Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Abadeh wool rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of red, blue, ivory, pink, gray, orange, and brown. The red hued lozenge field is over a blue ground beginning with a central octagonal medallion flanked by tree of life motifs to the ends. The field as a whole also features an array of filler motifs including flowers and animals, while each corner has an animal head medallion coordinating with the central medallion. Framing the field is a main ivory grounded floral meander border, along with Hamadan guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
