Federal Style Mahogany Bookcase on Secretary, Early 20th Century

Item Details

A Hepplewhite style mahogany secretary with bookcase. Designed with a low-scalloped crest rail, this secretary features an upper bookcase behind two glazed doors. The doors feature a semi-circular wood design, with one shelf behind. The canted front desk area lowers to a writing surface. Once lowered, the interior includes various shaped compartments and two pull out drawers. Two short drawers are below the writing surface, with matching wood knobs and dovetail construction. The case is detailed with reeded round tapered legs and front arrow feet. It includes a skeleton key and a working lock. No manufacturer markings. Please note this item is located on the second floor.
