Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Rug

A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of red, black, teal, pink, orange, burgundy, and gray. The black hued field begins with a central medallion and it features a lattice of rectilinear designed floral and foliate motifs throughout. Framing the field is a red grounded main stylized palmette meander border, as well as a pair of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends, with on end having a short kilim skirt. It is unlabeled.
