A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Zanjan pictorial area rug. This wool rug features a lozenge-shaped red central field with a sawtooth-crenelated medallion and depictions of flowers and birds. The rug has large dark brown spandrels. The border displays floral and geometric patterns. Overall, the rug utilizes a palette of red, slate grey, royal blue, dark green, light brown, dark brown, pink, orange and cream white. This rug is finished with natural warp white cotton fringe, and it is unmarked.
