A monumental abstract oil painting on canvas by Oscar Murillo (1940-2017), created circa 1965-1970. This work features a design of multi-colored triangular confetti scattered throughout a green-toned abyss. The work is signed ‘O. Murillo’ and marked with the artist’s estate stamp to the canvas verso. It is presented in a simple wood frame.

Oscar Murillo was a prominent figure in the 1960s and 1970s Los Angeles art scene. Born in Mexico, he immigrated to the United States and settled permanently in the San Fernando Valley. He studied at San Fernando Valley State College (known today as Cal State Northridge) and received his Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts. Murillo remained active in his community, teaching art and exhibiting his art in galleries in San Fernando Valley, CA and Santé Fe, NM.
